A TRIBUTE IN THE MEMORY OF OUR FRIEND SOTIRIS LAMBROPOULOS
(MASTER MECHANIC)

The relationships of our Association with the railway men of Messinia has always been great. Many of the railway men have become friends with our members. Nobody can forget the time we spend together, talking to each other, drinking coffee or even fighting as one body, for the thing that we love, the Railway. All of them have helped the Association or members, in one way or another. We would need many pages to list the names of all the railway men that have helped us, through the years. But this page is dedicated to one person, a true railway man, a fighter, who is no longer among us. It is our beloved friend and master mechanic of Kalamata Depot, Sotiris Lambropoulos, who has helped us many many times in all kinds of different matters. We will never forget how many times he sacrificed his Sundays or his days off, away from his family, by coming along to our excursion, just to make sure that everything would run smoothly. And if something would go wrong he tried with all the strength that he had to fix it, without ever asking for a reward. He was a true railway man with lots of love for people and trains, and most of all he was our FRIEND. We think that the least we can do for him, is to create his own private space in our website, for honoring him and keeping his memory alive.

Sotiris is in front of the museum railcar DeDietrich 6402 in an excursion of our Association,

SOTIRIS, YOU WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE ON IN OUR HEART AND MEMORY.
WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR US.
